In early 2026, the Alayasiki team met with NATO's Allied Command Transformation, the command that shapes how the alliance will fight in the future, to discuss the interoperability requirements that coalition command and control will demand in the years ahead.
Aligning early with NATO's interoperability agenda
Allied Command Transformation's role is to turn useful innovation into interoperable capability fast enough to meet real operational needs (NATO ACT). Much of that work is proven each year at CWIX, the alliance's largest digital interoperability exercise, where the systems of dozens of allied and partner nations are tested together.
Japan is well placed to take part. It has been a NATO interoperability partner since 2014, with cooperation now set out in an Individually Tailored Partnership Programme. In 2026, NATO also opened its Innovation Continuum to Indo-Pacific partners, including Japan, an opening tailor-made for defense-tech innovators.
By aligning early with where these requirements are heading, Alayasiki can remain a dependable part of coalition operations as they evolve. Skygate will continue to track and support the alliance's direction.
